Opportunities Required
for Young Leaders
RGSW is starting an intensive overhaul of its Debating
Society, and is seeking opportunities for its young leaders to speak in public.
The Debating Society encourages intellectual exchange, analytical thought and the
confidence and coherence needed in effective public speaking. It follows RGSW’s
rich tradition of nurturing leaders and engaged citizens. The Society develops
students from Upper Sixth all the way through to the junior pupils at the
Grange and Springfield.
We are hoping that members of the AOOE will be able to
provide RGSW pupils with the opportunity to speak in public, or to attend and observe
public engagements. Typical events would include sports dinners, charity events
or meetings of public bodies like the Lions, Rotary Club or Chambers of
Commerce, where they may represent RGSW or the youth of Worcester in general.
The Debating Society would also welcome speakers able to share their experience
in public speaking, managing events, or business and networking in general.
Any person able to help the Society with speaking
engagements or mentoring should contact Mrs Susannah Hobby, Head of Debating,
at sch@rgsw.org.uk. Help will be greatly appreciated. Anybody with
questions, suggestions or comments about RGSW’s young leaders initiatives can contact
the RGSW Director of Enrichment, Dr Dan Coetzee, at dvc@rgsw.org.uk
Thank you
Dan Coetzee
